Materials

1 A4 Sheet JS Elegance Satin 300gsm card.
1 A4 Sheet JS Gentle Gloss photo paper.
1 A4 Sheet JS Elegance Satin 160gms paper.
1 A4 Sheet JS Gold Mirri card.
Ribbon – I used JS 15mm Organza ribbon and 3mm Satin ribbon.
Sticky Stuff – I used double sided tape and Pinflair glue gel.
JS/Jane Shasky - From the Heart of the Garden CD Set – I used an image from CD2

To make the “Love” tile

Versamark embossing pad.
Detail clear embossing powder.
Red liner tape for sticking.
A small piece of plain card to mount the tile on.

Optional

1 A4 Sheet 160gsm thin card to use as a template

Step One

Using Gentle Gloss photo paper, print out the “Love” toppers sheet from the Roses section on CD2 of the Jane Shasky CD.

Cut out the 2nd size topper image and measure it. Cut a piece of mirri card slightly larger than the topper, so there will be a border approximately 3mm wide round the topper.

Following the outline of the lettering cut away the roses section at the left of the letters.

Stick the topper to the mirri card (see centre image). Important – before trimming away the excess mirri card, measure and position it on your template/card.

Trim away the excess mirri card at the left-hand side of the letters, so you have an equal border round the topper. Run the ball tip of an embossing tool (held at a 45 degree angle) along the cut edge to neaten.

Step Two

It is easier if you make a template using thin card and transfer your measurements to the 300gsm card.

You may need to adjust the size of your aperture as all printers print slightly differently.

Landscape orientation; score the centre fold line to create an A5 card. Do not fold.

Position the topper on the front of the card and mark the corners. Join the four marks to create a rectangle. Divide the rectangle in half vertically.

Transfer the markings from the left half of the rectangle, nearest the centre (red) score line to the 300gsm card.

Score the blue line and cut the green lines as illustrated.

Step Three

Fold the card in half to create an A5 card.

Fold the cut section outwards to the front of the card to create a flap.

Optional, cut a small “V” to anchor the ribbon.

Step Four

Apply double sided tape to the flap and stick the “Love” topper onto the flap, so the cut letters overhang the aperture.

Step Five

Cut out the letters from the largest topper to decorate the inside of the card.

I used the roses strip at the right-hand side of this topper to create three thin decorative strips for the front of the card. I mounted the strips on mirri card.

Optional

Print out a small “Love” embellishment. Using red liner tape stick to a piece of card and triple emboss by pressing the embellishment into a Versamark pad, and emboss using detail clear embossing powder.

Attach to the front of the card.

Step Six

Stick the “Love” to the inside of the card.

Cut a piece of 160gsm JS Elegance paper to fit the right section of the inside of the card. Add an embellishment.

Place the ribbon across the front of the card, wrap to the inside and bring both ends of the ribbon through the small “V” and to the front of the card. Knot round the ribbon on the front of the card and make a bow.

This card will fit in a C5 envelope.
