Materials

1 A4 sheet JS 300gsm Elegance Satin Card.
4 A4 sheets JS 160gsm Elegance Satin Paper.
1 A4 sheet JS Gold Mirri Card.
Sticky Stuff – I used double sided tape, Pinflair Glue Gel and foam pads.
Small amount of green paper for punched foliage.
JS If Flowers Could Talk CD.
Optional – punches for foliage. I used: - Mega Fern, Cedar Sprig and Medium Oak Leaf.

Step One

Using 160gsm Elegance satin paper print out the sheet of toppers and matching backing paper.

The CD is interactive and you can change or delete the verses on the toppers. How to, is explained on the CD. I chose an alternative verse from the CD, and copied and pasted it onto my chosen topper. The other topper I left blank to use on another card.

Step Two

If you want to make your own sentiment for the front of the card, delete the verse from the topper and type your sentiment using a larger font. I chose size 36point and typed Just to say…. Take a snapshot of the topper and import it into a word processing or graphics programme. How to, is explained on the CD. When you have imported the topper into the word processing or graphics programme, highlight/select it and reduce it in size until it measures approx. 6cms wide. The illustration shows the topper before and after reduction in size.

All the interactive toppers on the CD can be reduced in size and used as sentiments to complement the toppers.

Print out a sheet of flower embellishments.

Step Three

Using an A 4 sheet of JS 300gsm Elegance satin card cut to size 29.7cms x 19cms. Measure, mark, score and cut as shown.

Repeat using the printed sheet of backing paper. Cut the backing sheet into three sections using the score lines as a guide.

Trim 0.5cms from all the side edges of the three sections of backing paper.

Step Four

Mount the topper onto a piece of gold mirri card and trim leaving a narrow border round the topper.

Repeat with the sentiment and/or one of the smaller toppers from the printed sheet, if you are not placing a sentiment on the front of the card.

Step Five

Using the backing paper line the inside of the envelope card.

Attach the large topper to the inside of the card placing it at an angle so it protrudes out of the “top” of the envelope. Fix using foam pads.

Step Six

Attach the sentiment/small topper to the outside of the left flap of the envelope card, so that when the flaps are closed, the topper is positioned centrally on the card. It will overhang the left flap. Fix using foam pads ensuring that the foam pads do not over sail the flap at the right, and stop the card from opening.

Step Seven

Cut out some of the flower embellishments and punch some foliage. Arrange on the front of the card flaps and attach. I used Pinflair Glue Gel.

Optional – decorate the reverse of the envelope card with a small topper.

This card will fit in a C5 envelope.
