Step One

Using 160gsm JS Elegance Satin Paper, print out the decoupage set and matching backing paper.

Cut out the decoupage.

Step Two

Open out an 8” x 8” card and cut away the top half of the front of the card as shown, to create a front flap.

Optional – Use the cut away section of the card to mark scallops as shown. Do not throw away.

Cut the scallops.

Step Three

Mount the large topper onto gold mirri card and a backing paper mat. The mounted topper should measure approximately 18cms x 14.5cms.

Fix the topper to the inside of the card, and add a decorative strip underneath.

Step Four

Close the front flap of the card.

Place the teapot decoupage layer on top of the flap, lining it up with the topper on the inside of the card. Do not fix.

Step Five

Hold the decoupage steady on the top of the flap and slide the front cut away section under the teapot, so that the two halves of the front of the card butt up to each other. (Shown by the dotted line).

Secure the teapot to the top half of the front of the card using a piece of double sided tape.

Step Six

Remove the top half (front cut away section of card) and the decoupage layer. Using PVA glue or similar attach the teapot decoupage to this piece of card. The cups will overhang the card.

Cut away the excess card. This will provide a backing and strengthen the decoupage layer.

Step Seven

The illustration shows the wrong side of the card and decoupage. Above the dotted line is the reinforced section of the teapot.

Using PVA glue fix the teacups to the front of the bottom flap, lining the teapot and teacups up with the topper on the inside of the card.

Step Eight

Decorate the inside of the front of the card to cover the centre front join. I used two Spellbinders Dies. I used Labels 20 and Fancy Tags 2.

Step Nine

Layer up the decoupage and add embellishments. I cut out flowers using leftover pieces of backing paper, and off-cuts of gold mirri card. Add a gem to the centre of the flowers.

Add a sentiment.

This card will fit in a 22cms x 22cms envelope.
