If you wish to make only one section of the card

3 A4 Sheets Foundations Coconut White Card.
2 A4 Sheets Foundations Black Card.
1 A4 Sheet 160gsm Elegance Satin Paper.

Step One

Using A4 Foundations Coconut White cardstock print out five copies of the Choice Seeds backing paper, which is located in the Gardens Section of the Toppers, Page 1, Image 5.

Using JS A4 160gsm Elegance Satin Paper, print out five different toppers/images from the Country + Seed Packet Florals. These will form the pop-outs on the inside of the star card.

Print out a topper/ image for the front of the card.

These toppers/images need to be re-sized to approximately 11.5cms x 15cms and two toppers/ images will fit on an A4 sheet of Elegance Satin Paper.   How to import an image into a Word Processing or Graphics Programme and re-size it is explained on the CD.

If you are making the card with one section and not the full star, print out one copy of the backing paper and two topper/images (one for the front and one for the inside of the card).

Mount all the toppers onto Foundations Black Card, each piece of card measuring 12.5cms x 16cms.

Step Two

Right side facing, score each of the five sheets of “Choice Seeds” backing card into four equal panels as illustrated.  Do not fold the score lines.

Step Three

Cut out the centre “green” section on each of the five pieces of the “Choice Seeds” card as illustrated.

Make four 0.5cms vertical slits, 3.5cms from the centre score line, as shown in green.

Step Four

The illustration shows the card after the centre section has been removed and the four vertical slits have been cut.

Mountain fold the red lines, and valley fold the blue lines.

Open out the card.

Step Five

Wrong side facing, apply double sided tape (shown in pink) to the outer panels of each piece of card (this will form the inner card).

Step Six

Right side facing, landscape orientation, score five sheets of Foundations Coconut White card in half vertically.  Mountain fold the card (outer card) in half.

Step Seven

Remove the double sided tape from the reverse of the inner card and join to the inside of the outer card as shown.

It is easier to join the two pieces of card together if you remove the double sided tape bit by bit, lining up the edges of the inner and outer card as you remove the tape.

Step Eight

Score each of the five toppers for the inside of the card, in half vertically.

Cut four 0.5cms slits vertically 3cms either side of the centre blue score line, as illustrated.

Valley crease the blue score line.

Step Nine

Locate the slits in the topper in the slits in the card inner as illustrated.

Repeat with the remaining four sections of the star.

If you are not making the five sections of the star, cover the front of the card using Foundations Black Card, and add your topper and sentiment.

Step Ten

To join each of the five sections of the star together, apply double sided tape to the reverse of FOUR of the sections of the star, as shown.  The illustration shows what would be the back and the front of the card when one section is closed before assembly.

Step Eleven

The illustration shows the top of the star card once all the five sections have been joined. The fifth card is NOT joined to the first card by double sided tape.  It is joined by ribbon so the card can be folded for posting.

Step Twelve

Using the remaining piece of A4 Foundations White Card print out a section of backing paper and a sentiment.

There is an interactive facility of the CD so you can personalise your sentiments.  How to do this is explained on the CD.

Step Thirteen

Cover the front of the card with a piece of Foundations Black card.

Attach ribbon round the outside of the card to tie and secure when the card is closed.

Attach the topper to a piece of the backing cut to 13.5cms x 17cms and position on the front of the card.   Add the sentiment.

Step Fourteen

Secure the ribbon to the back of the card so it doesn’t slip.  I used the JS Signature Ivy Corner die with some of the leftover card.

This card will present better in a box.
