Materials
1 sheet of A4 cardstock
1 sheet of JS A4 Gentle Gloss photo paper or cardstock
Piece of gold card 185mm x 145mm for frame
Collall photo glue or similar
Foam pads or silicone glue
Heavenly Cards CD
Step One
Using a sheet of Gentle Gloss photo paper or A4 cardstock print out the image and thumbnails for one of the Advent Calendars on the Heavenly Cards CD. (See pic). The thumbnail images are sized so they fit behind the little doors on the Nativity scene.
Cut around the Nativity scene leaving a 5mm white border. Cut the thumbnails out as a group, using the black line as a cutting guide. (See pic).
Step Two
Cut around three sides of the Advent doors on the Nativity scene, using the dotted lines as a cutting guide. Make a small pin-prick mark at the four corners of the scene – shown by the red dots (See pic3).
Step Three
After cutting the door openings, turn the Nativity scene face down and apply a thin line of Collall Glue or similar around all the door openings and round the edge. This is illustrated in part by the green dotted line. I have also shown where the pin-pricks are located on the reverse of the scene – red dots. (See pic). Take care not to get any of the glue on the door openings.
Step Four
Place the thumbnail images face down on top of the glued side of the image ensuring that the pin-pricks (shown by the red dots) line up with the corners of the thumbnails. They have been designed to fit together. (See pic). Turn and check the doors open.
Step Five
To make the frame cut a piece of card 185mm x 145mm. I used a piece of gold card and cut it using a deckle edged blade in my rotary cutter. With the wrong side facing, mark 12mm in from the edge along all four sides. (See. pic).
Step Six
Cut out the marked section (shown by green line in step 5). The frame is now made. (See pic).
