Materials
1 Sheet A4 cardstock cut in half to create two A6 cards
2 Sheets JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper for toppers
1 Sheet of 120 – 160gsm paper/thin card for backing sheet (patterned triangular section)
Small amount of gold paper for matting toppers on front of cards
Peel-offs
Double sided tape
Silicone glue for decoupage (optional)
Enchanted Christmas CD Rom Set
Victorian Christmas CD Rom
If you are using different toppers, you must use ones which have a landscape orientation and measure approximately 14.5cms x 9.5cms. Many of the largest landscape toppers on the CD have these measurements. If you choose one of a different size you will have to adjust the measurements.
This card can be made in 30 minutes.
Step One
Using the Gentle Gloss Photo Paper print a sheet of toppers for each card. I chose my images from Disc Two of Enchanted Christmas. You will need one copy of the largest and smallest toppers on the sheet (one extra small topper if you are doing the decoupage). (See Pic).
Print out a backing sheet using the 120/160gms. I used a backing sheet from Victorian Christmas.
Construct the front of the card first. Cut a triangular piece or a suitable shape from the backing sheet and mount on the left side of the card. Cover the join with a strip of peel-off. Mount the smallest topper onto a piece of gold paper and fix to the front of the card. Do not add the decoupaged layer yet.
Step Two
Take the largest topper and lay face downwards. On the top edge starting at the left, mark sections of 3cms – 4.25cms - 4.25cms - 3cms. Still with wrong side facing, score downwards.
(See Pic)
It is important to score on the wrong side, so the gloss coating is not damaged.
Step Three
Fold the score lines so the centre right-side fold is a mountain fold and the two outer ones are valley folds (the centre section is larger than the two side sections). Place a thin strip of double sided tape around the wrong side of both end sections of the topper. (See Pic).
Step Four
Open the card and place the large topper flat on the card so the centre score line of the topper aligns with the centre of the card. Position the topper, hold in place and turn back the end section. Remove the double sided tape, open out and stick down onto the card. Repeat at the opposite side. (See Pic)
Step Five
Using a piece of the left-over backing paper attach a length of 2.5cms double sided tape (DST) to the wrong side. Cut thin strips from this length, remove the DST and fix to the card to decorate. (See Pic)
Add the second layer of decoupage – robins and part of holly branch to the front of the card.
