Materials
2 Sheets A4 JS Stardream Card - I used Citrine
1 Sheet A4 JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper
1 Sheet JS Gold Mirri Card
1 Sheet 160gsm Thin Card for template (optional)
Length JS 7mm Organza Ribbon - sufficient to tie a bow
Approx 20cms JS 15mm Organza Ribbon
Pro-marker Pen to colour ribbon - I used Poppy
JS Giordano Christmas Creations CD
Sticky Stuff - I used double sided tape, silicone glue
Optional
Martha Stewart corner punch. I used the lattice corner punch. Please check that your punch is suitable for the thickness of cardstock you are using.
Step One
If your printer will print cardstock, using Stardream Card print out a backing paper for the card inner. I chose the backing paper to compliment the first Santa on page one of the Santa section. Otherwise make using plain card.
Many of the inserts on the CD are suitable for the front of cards and using Stardream card I printed the first insert on page one of the insert section. The interactive facility (how to - is explained on the CD) means you can personalise the front of your card and choose where to position your text. (See picture).
Step Two
If you are making a template to re-use, mark your measurements on 160gsm thin card. I prefer to make a template and then transfer my markings using either a pokey tool or a fine embossing tool.
To make the inner section of the card, use a sheet of A4 Stardream card and mark a rectangle 3cms inside the edges of the card (See picture).
Landscape orientation; score a vertical line down the centre of the card.
Cut two horizontal lines A to B and C to D
Score two vertical lines A to C and B to D
Score two more vertical lines 2cms inside vertical lines A to D and B to D (See picture).
Step Three
If you are using a corner punch, punch the corners before folding the score lines.
Ease the score lines into shape. (See picture).
Step Four
On the reverse of the inner section of the card fix double sided tape to the side edges and outer folds at the top and bottom. Do not remove the backing from the tape. (See picture).
Step Five
Using a sheet of Gentle Gloss photo paper print one small topper for the front of the card, one small topper approx 7.5cms x 10cms for inside the card, and two sentiments for the inner section. It explains on the CD how to capture an image and import it into a word processing programme. If you need to re-size the topper for the inside of the card, click on the topper and drag one of the small boxes at the corner of the topper diagonally, this will reduce the size of the topper. You should also be able to fit the two sentiments on the same sheet. The sentiments are interactive and you are able to change the font and size/colour. How to, is also explained on the CD. (See picture).
For the sentiment I used one of the gift tags and printed two copies, leaving the sentiment box blank on one of the tags. I also flipped one of the sentiments and "sandwiched" the 15mm organza ribbon between the two tags. Add a bow to the top of the ribbon and cut away the excess. (See picture).
Mount the toppers on mirri card leaving a narrow mirri border round the topper.
Fix the topper to the left-hand side of the inner section of the card and the sentiment to the right-hand side. (See main image).
Step Six
Using the second sheet of A4 Stardream card - printed for the front of the card, landscape orientation, score a vertical line down the centre of the card to create an A5 card (outer). Fix the topper to the front of the card. (See Fig. 6).
Optional - use the corner punch.
Place the inner box section of the card inside the outer card and line up the punched corners. Remove the double sided tape and join the inner and outer cards together. It is easier to join the two cards if you peel back a corner of each section of double sided tape, line up the cards and then remove the rest of the tape.
