Materials
Box
1 x Sheet of JS Stardream Card – I used Opal.
1 x Sheet of JS Stardream Card – I used Punch. (To mount rabbits on)
2 x Sheets of JS Gentle Gloss Photo Paper. (For backing paper)
Messy Rabbit Stamp – I used Hunny Bunny (for a girl). DIY Rabbit (for a boy).
Versamark embossing pad.
Detail Gold embossing powder.
JS Messy Rabbit CD – I used the Egg Backing Sheet from Well Behaved Weasel, Page 1.
Inner Section
I sheet of JS A4 heavyweight Acetate Sheet or medium weight card.
1 sheet of A4 medium weight card 200-220gsm. (To hold the chocolate eggs)
A piece of white tissue paper 250mm x 250mm.
Messy Rabbit Stamps – I used Hunny Bunny (gift boxes) and Choirboy Rabbit (for flower border).
Stazon Stone Grey stamp pad.
Sakura Glaze pens.
JS 7mm Organza ribbon.
Sticky stuff, I used, Silicone Glue, Collall Photo Glue, Foam Pads and JS Red double sided tape.
Blank CD and sufficient backing paper to cover the underside of the CD.
1 x packet of Cadbury’s Mini Eggs (100grms). Plus cellophane to wrap eggs.
Step One
INNER SECTION
I made part of my inner section using heavyweight acetate but medium weight card could be substituted.
Cut a piece of A4 JS heavyweight Acetate Sheet to measure 240mm x 210mm. With the longest edge of the card (240mm) horizontal, mark the centre point. Rule a line diagonally from the centre top point to each of the bottom corners (shown by the red dotted line). Cut away the excess acetate outside the dotted line to create a triangle.
Step Two
Mark the centre point on the edge of the three sides of the triangle. Using a score board and embossing tool join these points together horizontally from point to point to create an inner triangle. This is shown by the red lines and will be the score lines on your acetate sheet.
I rounded off the three corners as a safety measure. Do not crease the score line folds yet.
Step Three
Using the Stazon stamp pad, stamp the gift boxes (from Hunny Bunny) and the floral border (from Choirboy Rabbit) on the three outer triangles. Colour with Sakura Glaze pens. Once dry crease the score lines so the sides stand upright.
Step Four
Cut a piece of medium weight 200-220gsm card to measure 200mm x 173mm. With the longest side horizontal, mark from the top centre point diagonally down to the two bottom corners and cut away the excess. Find the centre point of each side of the triangle and score (see stage 2).
For the lining, cut a piece of tissue paper the same size as this triangle and attach to the centre triangular section using a small piece of double sided tape.
Make a small hole approx 1cm from each of the points of the triangle (no need to round the corners). Thread the ribbon through the holes; pull the sides of the three triangles to a point at the top, inserting the cellophane wrapped eggs. Tie into a bow (See picture 8).
Step Five
BOX
Cut a piece of Stardream card to measure 290mm x 140mm. (Save the leftover to stamp the rabbits).
With the longest side horizontal, measure and mark a horizontal line 1cm (10mm) up from the bottom of the card.
Mark the centre point of this line.
On the top edge of the card mark a point 73mm in from each side edge.
Draw a line from both the 73mm points diagonally to the bottom centre point (shown by the red diagonal lines).
Draw another line from both 73mm points diagonally to the bottom corners (shown by the green diagonal lines).
Score the red diagonal lines and the red half of the bottom line.
Cut away the green diagonal lines and the green half of the bottom line (hatched area on picture).
Step Six
Crease the score lines on the box. Print two copies of the egg backing paper (needed if you want the design to be the correct way up on all three sides of the box). Cut three equilateral triangular egg backing papers each measuring 135mm and attach to the three sides of the box. Using the Versamark stamp pad and Detail Gold embossing powder, stamp and emboss three rabbit images on the leftover Stardream Opal card.
Step Seven
Using Sakura Glaze pens colour Hunny Bunny. I did not colour the body parts of the rabbit except the inner ear. Curve the rabbit to add dimension (I used my fingers to gently curve the edges of the image).
Attach to a piece of Stardream Punch card using silicone glue. When dry, trim away the excess Punch card leaving a small border around the image. Attach slim foam pads to the reverse of the image and attach an image to each of the sides of the box. Assemble the box by applying the Red Liner double sided tape to the 1 cm flange of the box and fix under the opposite side. (See picture 8).
Step Eight
I used an old unwanted CD as a base to keep the inner section steady.
Cover the underside of the CD with spare backing paper. I also covered the centre of the top of the CD with a roundel of backing paper. Centre and stick the acetate section onto the CD. I used Collall glue.
Place the eggs inside the acetate section and cover with the decorated box.
