Heather and Calla Lily Spray by Sandra Miles

This is a pretty but fairly straightforward little spray of flowers that would look lovely on a card. You can make it using exactly the combination we have suggested here - or you could substitute something different to go with the colour scheme of the card you are planning. This is a good place to start if you haven't worked with flowers that much before!

Level: Easy

Ingredients:

2 pieces of ivy BN0089
3 pieces of heather BN0086
6 calla lilies BN0097
7mm lilac ribbon
silver florist wire

Step One

Take spray of ivy and starting at bottom of stem add in the heather

Step Two

Add two more pieces of heather- one either side of your first stem, twist some thin silver wire around to hold the bunch in place.

Step Three

Add three calla lilies in the same shape as the heather but bend them just a fraction forwards so they don't rest on the spray - add another twist of wire around the stems.

Step Four

Snip off the bottom two ivy leaves of another spray (keep them they could be handy!) and add the stem into the right of the bunch

Step Five

Add three more calla lilies, one in the centre and one either side of it - they should all be laid down a little lower and bend them slightly upwards to keep them up and give your bunch a little shape. Twist more silver wire around the bunch at the point where the stems all meet.

Step Six

Take a length of 7mm organza and tie over the twisted wire to secure it

Step Seven

Make a ribbon bow and tie (or glue) onto the base of the bunch of flowers

Step Eight

Trim all the stems to a neat finish
