1 A4 Sheet Foundations Card – I used Milk.
1 A4 Sheet Red Card approximately 160gsm.
1 A4 Sheet Dark Green Card approximately 200gsm.

Sticky Stuff – I used Pinflair Glue Gel and Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Signature Die SD078 - Build a Flower.
Signature Die SD066 – Ivy Corner
Signature Die SD106 – Merry Christmas

Tim Holtz Distress Markers – Fired Brick and Black Soot.

Stickles Glitter Glue – Yellow for flower centres.

Step One

To make one poinsettia, using red 160gsm card and the Signature Build a Flower die set, cut out two of each of the three sizes of petals. (1.1) these will be used to create the bracts.

1.2  Trim away the sides of each of the six sets petals.

1.3  Using an embossing ball tool run it round the edges of each petal.

1.4  Vein all the petals as shown.

1.5  Using the Fired Brick Distress Marker colour the edges of each petal.

1.6  Spritz all the petals and when almost dry shape the petals, re-define the veins if necessary. Place the largest and middle sized petal sets to one side.

1.7  Smallest petals only –separate the three petals from each die cut and pinch the base of each petal as shown.

For four poinsettias you will need:-

Leaves – 8 large petal die-cuts using dark green card.

Bracts – 8 large, 8 Medium and 8 small die cuts using red card.

Step Two

To make the poinsettia leaves using dark green 200gsm card and the Signature Build a Flower die set, cut out two of the largest size petal dies.  Follow steps 1.2 to 1.6 using a Black Soot Distress Marker to cover the edges of the leaves.  Separate to form six individual leaves.

Step Three

Cut a circle of card just smaller than a 10p piece and place a generous blob of glue gel in the centre of the circle.

3.1 Arrange the six leaves around the circle leaving a gap in the centre.  This will give the appearance of the leaves being larger than the red bracts.

3.2  Add the two largest three bracts/petals die-cuts staggering the die-cuts.

3.3  Repeat with the two middle sized die cuts using glue gel.

3.4  Add five of the smallest bracts/petals to the centre of the poinsettia positioning with the pinched end to the centre and securing with glue gel.  Squeeze yellow Stickles Glue Gel into the centre of the poinsettia.  This will also help secure in place

the tiny bracts.

If you want to make a smaller poinsettia, omit the largest petal die, and cut extra of the middle and small dies.  Use the large size leaves but arrange them closer together.

Step Four

Using an A4 Sheet Foundations Milk Card,  landscape orientation, score in half vertically and fold to create a tent-fold card.

Using the JS Signature Die Ivy Corner Cut three corners from green card and cut a Sentiment using the JS Merry Christmas die.

Attach two die cuts to the card as shown using Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Step Five

Attach the poinsettias to the card using glue gel.  Use the remaining Ivy Corner as extra trim if required.

This card will present better in a box.
