For Holly
1 x A4 Sheet of JS Elegance and Satin JS Ice White 160gsm thin card. -print out the Holly backing paper from the Inspirational collection on CD1.
Detail Clear embossing powder.
Versamark embossing pad.

Step One

Using an A4 sheet of Elegance Satin card - Landscape orientation - score to create an A5 card when folded.

Using JS Gentle Gloss photo paper, print out the Snowman image from CD1, Birds and Butterflies collection. I used one of the second size images and mounted it onto red Mirri card. The mounted topper should measure approximately 9cms x 11cms.

Position, but do not fix the topper on the front of the card and mark points 1cm in from each corner of the topper on all four sides. You should have eight marked points.

Step Two

Remove the topper and mark eight more points 1cm outside the original markings - as illustrated in red.

Step Three

Join the red and black dots to create four rectangles along the sides of the card, as shown.

Step Four

Cut out the four rectangles. Hold an embossing tool at an angle and run it along the cut edges. This will neaten the edges and create a bevel.

Step Five

Mount the topper on a piece of gold mirri card, leaving a narrow border of 2mm around the topper. If your border is too wide it will cover the cutwork.

Fix the topper to the front of the card. The topper overhangs the cutwork by approximately 2mm, this helps hide cutting irregularities.

Step Six

Using Elegance Satin 160gsm thin card, print out an insert. There is an interactive facility on the CD to personalize greetings. How to, is explained on the CD. I used one of the inserts from the Inspirational collection on CD 1.

Trim the insert to fit the right-hand side of the inside of the card. Optional, attach one of the thumbnails images to the left-hand side, as illustrated.

Step Seven

Using Elegance Satin 160gsm thin card, print out the Holly backing sheet from CD1 inspirational collection.

Cut out some sprigs of Holly. Shape - I used the Double ended pokey tool to draw veins in the leaves and curled them into shape.

Press the sprig into the Versamark pad, reshape and cover the sprig with Detail Clear embossing powder. Emboss using a heat gun. Repeat twice more, covering the leaves with embossing powder while still warm, so the powder will stick.

Reverse tweezers as shown; make it easier to hold the sprig for embossing.

Fix the sprigs to the card using Pinflair Glue Gel.

Optional- Add a peel-off.

This card will fit in a C5 envelope.
