2 A4 Sheets Elegance Satin 300gsm Card.
1 A4 Sheet Elegance Satin 160gsm Paper.
Suitably sized aperture die of your choice.
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad - Shabby Shutters.
Tim Holtz Distress Marker – Spun Sugar.
Sticky Stuff – I used Cosmic Shimmer Glue and Pinflair Glue Gel.
Cut a piece of 300gsm Elegance Satin Card to measure 29.7cms x 14.9cms.
Landscape orientation score in half vertically. Do not fold.
Cut an aperture out of the front of the card, positioning the die off-centre. I used one of the Spellbinders Oval Dies. Check your die is smaller than the Floral Lace Background die.
Using the Decorative Trellis Stencil emboss the front of the card. I positioned the stencil underneath the front of the card before embossing to give a different effect.
Attach the Floral Lace Background die to the inside of the front of the card, covering the aperture.
Using Elegance Satin 300gsm card cut out the Leafy Flourish die, and colour using Distress Ink Pad - Shabby Shutters. I used a duster brush to apply the colour.
5.1 Using Elegance Satin 160gsm paper and the Build a Flower Die set. For each flower cut two of the medium flower die and three or four of the small flower die (depending on size of flower required). I made three flowers.
5.2 Trim the point off each petal feathering the cut. Carnations have a frilled edge to each petal.
5.3 Using Spun Sugar Distress Ink marker, tint the edge of each petal.
5.4 Spritz the petals and furl to form a cone shape.
5.5 When almost dry open out the petal shape and using the Distress Ink marker lightly stroke a few lines at the edge of each petal. When dry add texture using an embossing tool.
5.6 Cut a circle of paper about the size of a 5p piece. Using some Cosmic Shimmer Glue, stick the two medium sized petal die-cuts to the paper circle, alternating the petals.
5.7 The remainder of the flower is built out from the centre. Leave one of the smallest sets of petals furled and separate the remaining petals.
5.8 These petals are assembled in an upright position using Pinflair Glue Gel. Stick the furled petals into the centre of the flower. Continue assembling the flower applying glue gel to the base of each petal and arranging them round the centre furled petals.
Leave to dry and assemble the flower spray as in the main image. There is space at the bottom right of the card for a sentiment. This card will fit in a 17cms x 17cms envelope, but will present better in a box.
