The focus for this project is the owl topper from the Lisa Audit cardmaking pad along with the different Joanna Sheen signature dies set on a lovely dotty paper from the Creative Expressions John Lockwood paper pad.
Select the owl sheet from the paper pad and cut the owl topper out and also the border and individual owl pieces too.
Cut the dotty paper pad sheet to 19cm x 19.5 cm. Select the shaded lilac Tim Holtz ink pad and add some ink onto a Creative Expressions smoothie and distress the edges of the dotty paper. Mount the owl topper onto a piece of foundations rich plum card leaving a small border around the edges.
Make an 8 ¼ inch x 8-inch base card by joining 2 sheets of the Foundations rich plum card together. Mount the dotty paper onto a piece of coconut card before mounting the piece onto the base card using some foam tape.
Lay the owl border on angle across the top of the card and make a pencil mark at the point of the white border on the base card.
Trim the border off at the markings before moving the border down to the bottom corner of the card. The first edge will fit perfectly on the bottom of the card and just mark the final cut mark on the sides before trimming the border down.
Cut the Joanna Sheen die pieces ~ 1 or 2 of the Fairyfly, 2 sets of the Philippa lace ribbon borders and 2 sets of the leaves and stamens dies. Add a rich plum border to the top and bottom of the border. Now cut the lace border down the centre and stick the lace border to the edges on the back of the owl panel.
Use some foam tape to add the borders to the card and then slot the topper underneath so it sinks down.
Knot a piece of the orchid ribbon through the 2 slots on the butterfly die and add this to the top corner of the card.
Use some Pinflair glue to add the owl decoupage pieces over the topper. Cut the bow off one of the flower bouquets and retain. Add the 2 bouquets to the corner of the topper and then arrange the leaves to the side of the card before adding the retained bow to the base of the leaves.
Dab a small amount of the shaded lilac ink on the tip of the smoothie before placing the ink in the centre of the flowers. Apply some glossy accents over the ink and also on the eyes of the owls. You can add the glossy accents on the border too. Just be careful not to put it to close together else the glossy accents can spread and combine together rather than having 2 eyes separately. If this does happen, you can remove a small amount of the glossy accents on a pokey tool to keep the required look.
