2 A4 sheets JS Stardream Card - I used Citrine.
1 A4 sheet of white card - for stamping the images onto.
1 A4 sheet 120gsm paper - for insert.
1 piece of JS Thick Acetate for "reverse stamping" image.
Versafine Onyx Black Stamp Pad (Stazon and Memento aren't suitable).
House Mouse Stamp Plate - Spring Daffodil.
Promarkers to colour image.
Crystal Lacquer, Glossy Accents, or similar, to highlight the raindrops.
Bling for decoration.
Lemon chalk to colour edges of mats.
Mega Nestabilities - Curved Rectangles to create mats.
Sticky Stuff - I used Red Liner Double Sided Tape, Foam Pads and Quickie Glue Pen.
JS House-Mouse Inserts CD Rom.
Optional Martha Stewart edging punch - I used a lace punch. (Please check your punch is suitable for the paper/card you are using).
Lemon and yellow card/paper to make flowers and foliage.
CREAlies Dies CL CS 11 and CL CF 09.
Small amount of black and brown Flowersoft.
Aleenes Tacky Glue.
Cut a piece of card 29.7cms x 15cms. Landscape orientation score as shown in picture. Valley fold the score lines.
Using Versafine Onyx Black stamp pad, ink up the rubber stamp. Lightly stamp on a piece of waste card to remove excess ink. Do not re-ink the stamp. Stamp onto your chosen card, I used a piece of smooth white pearl card.
Re-ink the stamp and stamp the image onto a piece of JS thick acetate. It works better if you use thick acetate. Versafine pads do not dry on acetate and you need a wet image to transfer as a negative onto the card.
To create the negative image, turn the acetate (stamped image down) and place down on a piece of white card. I hold the acetate by the left-hand corner "A" and place corner "A" onto the card, then carefully lower the opposite diagonal corner "B", keeping my left index finger in position at the top left-hand corner "X". I move my left thumb down to the bottom "X", I place the palm of my left hand onto the card to the left of the acetate to stop the acetate moving. Using my right thumb, I press the acetate onto the card, working all over the stamped image. This removes any air between the acetate and the card, and gives a clearer image.
The acetate can be re-used if you clean the ink off using a piece of kitchen paper and surgical spirit.
Trim the stamped images to 8cms x 11cms.
Before colouring in, allow time for the ink to "set" or give a short blast with a heat gun.
Using Promarkers, colour in the images. I used:-
For the Flower: Primrose, Lemon, Yellow.
For the Foliage: Marsh Green, Pear Green, Olive, Lime Green.
For House Mouse: Caramel, Shale, Ice Grey, Dusky Pink, Ivory, Primrose.
Highlight the raindrops with Crystal Lacquer, Glossy Accents, or similar product.
Using Stardream card and Mega Nestabilities - Curved Rectangles, cut two each of the largest and second largest dies for mats.
Optional - Using yellow chalk, colour the edges of the second largest mats. Polish with soft kitchen paper to remove excess chalk and set the colour. Build the mats/topper layers using foam pads for definition.
Using 120gsm paper print out the Sunflower insert from the House Mouse Inserts CD Rom. How to add a sentiment using the interactive facility is explained on the CD.
Trim the insert to fit the inside of the card. If you wish to add a fancy border at the top of the insert, allow an extra 3cms at the top edge. Punch the top edge and fold over to the right side. Fix the insert inside the card using double sided tape. I also used a Quickie glue pen on the fold line, so the scalloped border lay flat.
Save the off cut from the insert.
Apply Red Liner double sided tape (DST) to the outside (front) of the 2cms folded sections of the card.
Fix the toppers to the 2cms side sections of the card, butting the toppers up to the side edges so they fit flush.
Add "Bling" to the toppers. I used three small diamantes.
Trim the off cut from the insert to fit the side sections inside the card.
To make the optional two small sunflowers, using CREAlies CL CF 09 cut four of the second smallest flowers. Cut each petal in half to create two petals and curve into shape using a ball tool, working in a circular motion. Using Aleenes tacky glue, stick two layers of flowers together, staggering the petals. Create the flower centre using black and brown Flowersoft.
For the foliage I used CREAlies CL CS 11 (fern) and the Mega Lily from the Punch Bunch range of punches. I created the veins in the leaves by scoring the cut leaves.
Attach to the toppers on the inside of the card.
This card will fold down and fit in a C5 envelope.
